I wonder how many of these things are still out there on the road somewhere...

Back in the early '90s my parent's Chevy Citation finally gave up the ghost and they ended up looking for a minivan to replace it because '90s. I tried as hard as I could to convince them to get a Trans Sport based solely on the fact that it looks kind of like a shuttle pod from TNG. They ended up getting a Plymouth Voyager. I still kind of want one, though.

These were actually pretty good towing vehicles. Several times I towed more than 1000 miles in a day averaging at about 70 mph and getting 17 mpg. This is a photo before heading off on one of those weekends.
They were quiet and rode well. All it needed were heavy duty shocks, air bags in the rear springs and a heavy duty hitch. I had very good luck with my 3.8 V6 and 4 speed transmission. I bought mine with 114k miles and ran it up to 175k miles with no major problems. I am glad I never had an accident as they were poorly rated for front end collisions.
A upside is the plastic body shows no wear or hail damage. A downside is the plastic body hides the fact that the subframe, brake and fuel lines could have major rust.

Not shown: miles and miles of rusting brake lines.
